These are my book recommendations!

Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka

Metamorphosis is honestly quite odd

when you take it at face value.

I did not get this book when I

first read it as a young teen, now I

feel like this book resonates with me

a whole lot more. This is due to my

father suffering a traumatic brain

injury of which had permanent damage

to who he was as a person.

Metamorphosis has helped me better

understand how my father may be

feeling now and how we should accept

those changes despite what has happened

Whiskey When We're Dry by John Larison

I was incredibly into RDR2 when I first read this book, likewise this book takes place in the 1800's detailing the life of a seventeen year old outlaw, where she has to imitate a boy to survive. This book is incredibly well written, I really loved the style Larison wrote in I was hooked on every word. You can tell the inspiration from classic western novels really great read.

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

Homegoing is a historical fiction novel about two Ghanian sisters and their relationship to colonization in two different ways are connected. It is genuinely heart-breaking and gorgeous, dissecting the racism faced in america please read!

Sleep by Haruki Murakami

This is a short story about a woman who is very dissatisfied with her life which leads her to be unable to sleep. She gets into her old hobbies, it feels like she has so much time to herself now. I really resonated with this book as I was a sufferer of insomnia for quite a while, I was so unhappy with myself I wouldn't care about how I was treating myself and honestly confirmed my fears about being trapped in a situation I just didn't like.
